Fiona turned 6 months this week! She's such a sweet, big girl. This stage of her life has been fun. Her personality has come out much more and she's happier. (She's also napping better too which is fabulous). She's incredibly silly, funny, and social. She loves to be around people and enjoys being held and talked to by others. She is curious, active, and loves to squeal and yell with joy. Rick and I love hearing her having a good time. We just laugh together with her.
We had her 6 month check up today. She is growing so quickly. She's 90% in height, 75% in head circumference (to hold all those brains), and 55% in weight. I can't believe how big she's getting.
I had thought about using baby sign language with her even before she was born and my mother actually sent me a book on it (without me even mentioning it to her)! You can start as early as 6 months so we started this week. I hope I can be consistent and teach the signs to her. It will probably take her a couple of months to start using them herself. Their hand coordination isn't developed enough before then. I think it will be great for our communication and hopefully prevent some future frustration on her part and on ours. I want her to feel heard and not be frustrated with me not knowing what she wants and I want to meet her needs as quickly as possible. I think it will take the guess work out of parenting a baby that can't talk well yet. We'll see how it goes. It might totally flop, and that's ok too. We'll give it a shot.

I had good intentions to do sign language but wasn't able to stick to it. Foster did learn "more" pretty quickly though. I hope you have better luck than we did!!
