Our little Fiona turned 5 months old on Monday (Labor Day)! She is growing and changing so much. I keep a list going of all the milestones and new personality quirks each month for me to look back and remember how she developed as a person her first year of life. Her personality has really come out more this month. She smiles a lot and is so happy. She loves to laugh and yell and scream with joy. She enjoys playing and is very curious with all things. She of course, likes to feel every surface and put everything in her mouth now. She is much more expressive these days with her face and her voice. I could go on and on about my love for her and the new things she is doing. She is getting more and more beautiful and fun by the day. Here are some pictures in her monthly onesie.
Smiling at Grandaddy.
Funny!
Reading her new book.
Sitting in her Bumbo seat like a big girl.
She doesn't sit in it much because she always wants to play with her feet, leans forward, and in turn puts too much pressure on her legs and cuts off her own circulation. So, unfortunately, we don't use it much.
Sweet baby...
As I have mentioned before, Fiona has recently started solid foods...and she LOVES it! I can't shovel it in fast enough. She will whine in between bites she wants it so bad. The only thing she isn't in love with so far is peaches. It's mostly the really sweet stuff (sometimes bananas and pears) that she isn't as enthusiastic about. This is unusual to me since most babies/kids are the opposite and don't want to eat their vegetables. Hooray for Fiona Joy! I expected the integration of solids to be much more work. It has been a breeze. She loves everything! In between bites she will fuss a little and open her mouth as wide as possible for the next one! haha! It is so funny.
Waiting for the next bite like a little birdie.
I have no idea why she is making this face, but it was funny.
Rick's mom (Mimi) and stepdad (Grandaddy) were in town with us for Labor Day weekend. We enjoyed having them and I know they loved to see their sweet Fiona too. Here they are all three together.
Grandparents and Fiona.
Rick's family are big Auburn fans. His sister sent some Auburn goodies down with them for us all! She gave Rick and I Auburn T-shirts and Fiona the cutest outfit! Thanks, Lea!!! We watched the game on Saturday in all our gear.

Me and my precious family.
Playing in her new outfit.
Chillin'

Rick's mom and stepdad took us to a birthday lunch on Sunday after church. There's a program that Miami does during the months of August and September called Miami Spice. The fine dining restaurants in the city do a flat fee for a 3 course lunch or dinner. It's delicious and cheaper than the regular menu. It gives people a chance to have a little fine food and culture. They asked me to pick the restaurant, so I picked a cool place on South Beach called Tudor House. We had a fun time. Going to South Beach is always an event. As you know, we love to eat at our house and this was a great opportunity to go to a new restaurant. Thank you, Trisha and Rex!
On another birthday related note, I try to read as often as I can (doesn't happen as much since I have a baby now) and I have been wanting a Kindle for a while, but wouldn't spend the money on it. It's compact, you can take it in your purse anywhere and it's great just reading at home. Rick, Trisha, and Rex went in together and got me a Kindle for my birthday!!! It was a special and wonderful surprise! I was ecstatic! Rick's sister and her husband got me a cover with a built in book light to go along with it too! I was thrilled. I have been using it a lot. It was a great birthday.
