My good friend Jen has annual passes to the Miami Zoo and was kind enough to invite Fiona and I to join her and her three kids for a free trip this week. It's rare that I get to get out with Fiona these days since she is too young to be around crowds. We have taken a few ventures thus far into open spaces where there is fresh air and where the germs aren't floating around. So I packed Fiona up yesterday and we headed down to Miami for our day of fun.
As I mentioned before, Jen has three children and her youngest is a girl who is 5 months old. It is nice to have Jen around for mommy advice and support. We walked around the zoo and looked at the animals. Unfortunately, it's south Florida and very early in the year it starts heating up. It was 93 degrees yesterday!!! We were sweating our butts off! We all were dripping! Even Fiona was super sweaty. Regardless of the heat, we had a fun time. After a couple of hours, we packed up and headed home. Needless to say, I had to take a shower when we returned home and Fiona had to have a bath. She had a great time on her first trip to the zoo. :)
