Cafe, Cuisine, and Chocolate

Rick and I are trying to spend as much time together as possible before our little girl comes, so today, he said, "Get ready quick! We're going out to lunch." I had gone out to lunch with a friend a few weeks ago to this cute little cafe close by that makes gourmet food and has a chocolate shoppe next door. She's a native of Hollywood and knows the coolest places that I could never find! I love that!

You would miss Jimmie's Chocolates and Cafe if you weren't looking for it. It has a cute, quaint patio area where we sat today. Even though it's 90 degrees outside now (yes, it's that hot already) it was shaded and breezy. Really nice! We got bruschetta as a starter with a tomato, cheese, and herb tapenade. So good! Rick ordered a grilled chicken breast with fruit BBQ sauce, zucchini and radicchio coleslaw, and plantains. The BBQ saice was tasty and sweet. I got a NY strip sandwich that had greens, sauteed veggies, and a Brie sauce. We had a fun, delicious, relaxing afternoon on the patio. :)

After lunch, we headed next door to the chocolate shoppe. We both love dessert but Rick's eyes got big once we got inside. He was in heaven. We got an assortment of handmade truffles to take home. We ate one each after lunch and that was enough. Those things are super rich and really good.

Thank you God for good food and for CHOCOLATE! There are so many daily pleasures that are reasons to celebrate your goodness.
