Rick and I went out on Friday for our Valentine's date. Rick did some research and picked the place. One of our favorite things to do is eat at good restaurants. We like to go somewhere different every time we have a "nice" date or special event. This time, we went to a cool, artsy Italian restaurant in Miami Beach. It's called Joey's and the weather was so nice. We sat outside and of course, like south Floridians do, they had heaters by the tables to keep everyone warm in the 70 degree weather. :) They had really good, authentic Italian food. For an appetizer, we got bruschetta carprese that was so good and simple. I had a vegan zucchini and eggplant soup with foccaccia that had parmesan and rosemary on it. Rick had the grouper special with a side of zucchini polenta. Very tastey. We had a chocolate cake with marscapone cream for dessert. Delicious! The portions were perfect, small and satifisfying. We can't wait to go out again for Rick's birthday. His favorite food is Asian so that's what we're doing but the place will be a surprise. It's really fun to have two large cities on either side of us. There are tons of varieties and ethnicities of foods here and we love to experience them all. Plus, there are many good restaurants to choose from. Yea for food!
