Feelin' Great at 28

Rick's birthday is today and he is 28 years old. We always try to go to a nice restaurant and do a big to-do/event for each of our birthdays each year. Rick's favorite food is Asian, so I always pick a cool Asian restaurant. Last year we went to a fabulous Thai restaurant in North Miami that Rick loved and then went to see Wicked afterwards. He loved that show! He wanted to go again this year since it will be in town next month but it was going to be too close to my due date and we didn't want to risk it. We decided to go out the night before since he always has to get up extra early on Sunday mornings for church.

So last night, off we went to a super cool Asian restaurant in South Beach (wahoo!!!!) that I picked called Philippe. The food was really good and the decor was super cool. Parking in Miami is a nightmare but parking in South Beach...forget about it. It took us a while to find a spot and not without an expensive price tag, but what are you going to do?










I had a few ideas of what to do after dinner in the planning process but ultimately I wanted him to choose his perfect birthday event. After some deliberation, he decided that he wanted to go to a Miami Heat basketball game. I bought us both Miami Heat T-shirts a couple of weeks ago to wear to the game. After dinner, we quickly changed and wore our fan gear. We were late for the game because of traffic and had some trouble parking again, but in the end, we got to the arena and had a good time. The game was good and close against the Washington Wizards. Rick got to the see "The Big Three" play and he was happy.
