"Out, Out Damned Spot!"

Lady MacBeth said it best, didn't she? Even though she wasn't talking about her carpet, I like to think she was, because that's how I have felt about mine. My carpet has been so gross since the day we moved in our house months ago. We have white carpet and it's miserable to clean. It gets dirty so fast especially since we have a lot of foot traffic through our home on a weekly basis. The carpet was somewhat dirty before we even moved in from service people going in and out. Then, the night we moved it was raining and you can imagine what got tracked in from the great outdoors. Now several months have elapsed and it is fully dirtied up.

There was one spot in particular that bothered me. I have been tempted to put a rug over it even though it is in an awkward spot. You would definitely be able to tell something scary was under there. I kept saying, "Rick, we HAVE to clean this carpet." No money to hire someone and none to rent a cleaner. Hmmm...what to do? We decided to ask around to our friends and co-workers to see if they had a wet vac that we could borrow. We were in luck!

One of Rick's co-workers had one and graciously let us borrow it. I spent hours on Thursday working away, but it was well worth it. Just dumping out the water that got sucked up from our carpet after the shampoo went on was a relief. It was so gross!!! But you know what?! That spot is gone, baby!!!! The whole house is clean and I feel so relieved.
